John Walker is a social media expert and digital marketer that has helped businesses in and out of Albania to increase sales through advertising campaigns on social networks. He is 20 years old and thinks that the future of businesses that sell with a physical store is e-Commerce and the online world.

How did you start everything?

– Everything started at age 12 when I decided to teach myself graphic design in Photoshop via YouTube. I did not decide for myself, but I realized that through YouTube I could learn about any questions I had about this “complicated” design program. 3 months later I started posting on my Facebook editing page and there started the first contact with the business world and marketing specifically. People liked my works, and wanted me to do design gigs for their businesses. The more work I received, the more followers, and so the cycle continued until the site reached the 20,000 followers. I started to have an idea of ​​online marketing and how could I help others do the same with their businesses.

Do you do Graphic Design Now?

– I do not believe my contact with the world of graphic design will ever disappear. Yes, I do, not as before, since e-Commerce and online sales receive most of my attention now.

– I often ask myself this question as 95% of our clients are in USA, Australia & England. Albania has a very low cost for online clicks because there is not much “move” or online shopping. The country is small and people are less influenced by an online ad because it deals more with the word of the mouth of a friend. But no matter how much this effects, marketing on social networks is indispensable. Every Albanian business should have an online presence.

Do you think e-Commerce is a trend of the moment or has continuity?

– Ultimately e-Commerce is NOT just a trend of the moment. Macy’s, JC Penney’s, Victoria’s Secret, etc. are closing their physical stores because they have not kept pace and focus on the changes taking place in e-Commerce, Marketing and Online Marketing.
